When the earthquake went I was frightened. I did not like it. I was frightened because my baby brother was at preschool. I miss him because he is at Wellington now. I miss him

I was at school when the earthquake happened. I felt sad but my brother was safe but he started to cry. Then, 10 minutes after my Dad picked us up.

Earthquake

On a rolly, quaky Tuesday at twelve o’clock lunchtime when I was still eating my lunch … the city was rolling and quaking. I ran onto the field like everyone else. But someone was having a good in Australia, my cousin Max. I felt really, really safe when mum came to pick me up.

At Japan there was a 9. 0 earthquake. My Grandma and Granddad are at Japan. The earthquake hit Tokyo and all of the trains are stopped at the station…

In the weekend I am going to stay at a motel at Timaru. We are going swimming and we are going shopping in Timaru. We are going to go to the beach and I can not wait until we are going.

I feel happy because I really like movies and I like playing on the computer because it is fun.

I feel happy when I go to someone’s birthday party because we can eat yummy foods. I feel excited when it’s my birthday because I get to have presents and I haven’t done a party before!

Earthquake Update

Hi there everyone,

I hope that this finds you all safe and well.
Just to keep you updated - we are having a staff meeting tomorrow at 10.00am to discuss the change of dates for all scheduled activities. Hopefully, we may also have an update on when we may be opening - the HOPE is next week (Mon) but, we are at the mercy of the authorities. I will certainly let you know as soon as I do

Hi Room 9 children - Mrs Parkes and I are missing you terribly and are really looking forward to seeing you and having a big hug. We cant wait to hear what you have been doing. If you do want something to do - why not write a journal about your last week or so? If you are staying in another town or city why not find out more about that place? You could look into history, etc.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
Please remember if you need any assistance at all - please contact me on 027 4595020 or email me or Catherine on our school addresses.
Kind Regards
Bronwyn Harding and Catherine Parkes
